A woman hurried through the streets of Manchester trying to find something she needed. Somewhere to belong. This woman was acting mysteriously, like she didn’t know who she was or where she belonged. But here she was: Walking down the streets of the city of Manchester. A moment later, she lost her footing and collapsed onto the ground.

Another female who was walking down the other side of the street ran over the road to assist this woman who had just collapsed. This female was called Charlotte Wilkinson. She had not had the best of luck recently, definitely since her marriage with her wife Janet began to crumble apart. Charlotte called an ambulance as she tried to wake the other woman. The woman's eyes began to open.

Charlotte smiled. “My name is Charlotte Wilkinson. I have called the ambulance. They’ll be here within a matter of minutes. What’s your name?”

“Lydia,” She replied. “Lydia Barker.”

On the planet Moros, the Time Lord known as the Doctor was faced with a dilemma. His latest foe, Scott Donovan-a shape shifter-was trying to get revenge on the Doctor due to being responsible for the death of Scott's family, something that the Time Lord believed would occur later in his life. Scott had embodied the form of the doctors companion, Janet Wilkinson, and had offered an ultimatum: The Doctor should reveal himself to be killed, or Scott will kill his two friends, Janet and Matt.

The Doctor paused for a moment. “We need to get Scott out of Janets body somehow.”

“I’ve got a plan.” The Sector announced. “In the next room, we have an item known as the Dark Emerald. We could get the shape shifter to kill your friends, and then we can bring them back to life using the dark emerald.”

Destari thought for a moment. “That’s what the Tsuraxi are after! The thing is though, Scott needs something to act as a vessel for him to get around. If we get him out of Janets body, the plan would work, otherwise it would not.”

The Sector called for the Servant. “You! Servant! Would you be willing to give up your body to act as a vessel for Scott?”

The Servant nodded. “Anything for you, Sir.”

“There’s no need for you to speak, girl.”

The Doctor tutted. He looked onto the screen where Scott was still holding a gun at the heads of the Time Lords companions.

“This better work, Sector. I can’t lose any more friends today.”

Elsewhere in a hospital in Manchester, Charlotte sat down beside Lydia's bed. She held her hand and comforted her.

Lydia grinned. “Sorry, it’s been a long day. I’ve sort of nearly died quite a few times. My mothers dead, everything I knew and loved is gone. This was my home, but I’m not sure whether I belong her anymore.”

“What happened?”

“There was this man-this wonderful, terrific, wise, kind, smart, brilliant man called the Doctor, and he took me on a couple of trips in time and space. One to this spaceship, one to Mars and then one to World War Two. During my trip to World War Two, me and the Doctor were separated, and since then I’ve been trapped on a desert island. These things-this alien warrior race called the Tsuraxi-were chasing us. They killed the inhabitants of the Island. My boyfriend Matt ran towards them, but I’m not sure if he escaped. Me and this other man went through this sort of portal, and I ended up here. I don’t know where Nigel went.”

Charlotte laughed. “Sounds like a messed up day.”

“I need to get out of this hospital. I need to know if Matts okay. I need to go to UNIT HQ.”

“I don’t really want to go back there. My wife lied to me about working there, and since then we decided to break up.”

“Seems like we’ve got more in common than we thought.”

Scott grew impatient for the Doctors decision. The Time Lord took a deep breath as he prepared to enact his plan. It could work, or it could go horribly wrong.

“Make your decision, Doctor,” Scott demanded. “I’ve got other things to be doing today, you know.”

“I’ve made my decision. You can kill them.”

Scott chuckled. “What? You want me to kill your friends?”

“Yeah, I’ve not known them for too long so I don’t care about them. Kill them.”

“Your companions are the most important things to you-More important than the survival of the whole of existence. You would never allow me to kill them.”

“I only grow close to a select few: Susan, Jamie, Zoe, Jo, Sarah Jane, Rose, Clara, Bill and people like that I grew close to. Matt and Janet-No.”

Scott (Who was still in Janet's body) laughed. He shot Matt in the head. Matt's body fell to the floor in pools of blood.

“I’ve got a bit of a problem,” said Scott, “If I kill this woman whose body I’m in now I won’t have anyone to carry my body and therefore I shall die too. One of your friends on the other side of that door may be willing to lend me theirs temporarily.”

The door opened as the servant departed. The Doctor slammed the door shut immediately after she left. Scott placed his hand on the Servants shoulder as Janet's body dropped to the ground. Before Scott's new body could grab the gun he had dropped, Janet grabbed it off the floor and poised it at Scott.

“Right,” Janet shouted. “You took my body, and now I shall take yours.”

“Don’t do it, Janet!” The Doctor screamed. “If you take a life you will feel guilty forever.”

“We can’t risk this,” Destari whispered to the Doctor. “If Janet doesn’t die then our plan could go horribly wrong right now.”

“It means one less person dies.”

Destari sighed. “We have no idea what reinforcements Scott may have. He may have a whole hoard of soldiers coming to kill us. We need Janet to die so the rest of the plan can occur.”

Janet continued to aim the gun at Scott's face. Scott, in the body of the Servant, kicked the weapon out of Janet's hand, grabbed it from the floor and shot Janet in the face, knocking her cold dead to the floor.

On the other side of the door, The Sector grabbed a key from his pocket and opened a door leading to another corridor. He strolled down the hallway until he reached a laboratory. He grabbed the Dark Emerald from one of the desks and carried it with him back to the Doctor and Destari.

The Doctor grinned. “And so phase 2 begins.”

A car rolled up outside of UNIT HQ. Two guards patrolled the area. They rolled up in front of them. Charlotte stuck her head out of the window.

“Excuse me. We’re here to see Matt Morrison. Can we enter?”

One of the Guards glared at her. “Entry to this facility is only allowed to UNIT members. Are you a UNIT member, ma’am.”

“No, but I am a family member of a UNIT member. My wife is Janet Wilkinson.”

“I’m sorry, Ma’am. No non UNIT members are allowed in this facility.”

Charlotte sighed. “I really didn’t want to end up in prison today.”

The car ploughed through the gates and into the car park. The two Guards chased after Charlotte and Lydia as they hurried into the entrance of the building. The Guards called for backup. The alarms soon sounded inside of the facility. Charlotte and Lydia were trapped. From behind them, they heard the sound of distant clapping which soon came closer. A man came towards them.

“Bravo!” He declared. “Bravo indeed! We won’t call the police. We don’t want them being involved in our matters. What you showed there were skills of determination, Mrs Wilkinson. You are the wife of Janet Wilkinson, aren’t you?”

Charlotte nodded. “I don’t understand.”

“My name is Samuel Davison-I am one of the leaders of our UNIT operations. Do you have a job, Mrs Wilkinson. I think you might have what it takes to become a member.”

Lydia raised her hand. “I’m here to see, Matt Morrison.”

Samuel tapped her on the shoulder. “Didn’t you hear? Matt Morrison has been gone for a while now. He just vanished off the face of the Earth. Saying that though, so did Janet Wilkinson and that strange blue box.”

Lydia looked at Charlotte. “I’m never going to find Matt now. He’s gone with the Doctor.”

Scott, now in the body of the servant, was pleased with his achievement.”

“You know what, when I came to Moros here today I had the ambition to strike the Doctor dead. But in many ways I am more pleased with myself that I murdered his companions. That will have a lasting effect on you, I know. I’m going to go. Pleasure doing business with you, Time Lord. You’ll see me again when you murder my family. Lets just hope I don’t see you.”

Scott wandered off in the body of the servant. The Doctor grabbed the Dark Emerald from the Sectors hand and tried to unlock the door, but it would not happen.

“It’s stuck,” The Doctor remarked. “That’s when my sonic screwdriver comes in handy.”

The Doctor grabbed his sonic screwdriver but before he could use it, the Time Lord, Destari and the Sector were knocked to the floor by a huge explosion. A few seconds later, the Time Lord awoke.

“What caused that, then?”

Destari struggled to catch her breath. “I don’t know but the Sector is still unconscious. Whatever caused that explosion has knocked him clean out.”

The Doctor grabbed the sonic screwdriver and the dark emerald from the floor and moved towards the laboratory where he believed the explosion had originated. He noticed that a portal had started to form in the corner of the room.

“That explosion must have generated this portal. Destari, stay with the Sector. I need to find out what is trying to get through.”

Elsewhere in Manchester, faint sounds were heard in UNIT HQ. Lydia and Charlotte could both here something. It was a strange noise, but it was getting louder. From in front of them, the TARDIS appeared.

“That’s the Doctors ship,” Announced Lydia. “The Doctor must be home.”

Lydia burst through the doors and she was amazed by what she could see: It was bigger on the inside than the outside. She was stunned. But there it was right in front of her for the first time-The TARDIS. But she noticed something: It was empty.

On Moros, the portal began to grow. The Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver at it but he could not detect any signals. He could see something was beginning to emerge from the portal. A sword pointed through, and from that point onwards it became clear what was trying to get through.

The Tsuraxi were here. The Invasion was about to begin.

The Doctor hurried back towards Destari and the Sector. “We need to evacuate the area as soon as we can. We need to get through those doors. The Tsuraxi are here.”

Destari was still watching over the Sectors body. “We need to carry the Sector out of here.”

The Doctor tried to open the doors again but they would not budge. Destari called him as one Tsuraxi emerged through the doorway.

“Just breathe,” The Doctor said. “There’s only one of them.”

From behind this soldier, dozens of Tsuraxi appeared.

“Okay, there’s more than one of them now. We need to get out of here NOW!”

The Doctor desperately tried to open the door as the Tsuraxi fleet hurried towards them. One of them stabbed the Sector in the heart, killing him instantly. The door soon flung open as the Doctor and Destari hurried out. The Tsuraxi rushed towards them.

“What about your friends?” Asked Destari. “We need to save them.”

“I know, but we can’t stay here.”

The Doctor kneeled down and placed the Dark Emerald on Matts chest. He woke up instantly and leaped up in front of the Doctor. He then crawled down and did the same to Janet. The Tsuraxi fleet just stood in front of them for a moment. The Doctor stood in front of Janet, Matt and Destari.

“It’s nice to see you again, Tsuraxi. The last time we met you were warning me that you would cause my ultimate downfall, and it looks like we are here at that moment. You killed the Leader of this planet, but you will not kill anyone else.”

The Tsuraxi Leader chuckled. “You could not be more wrong. This whole planet shall find itself the victims of the Tsuraxi.”

The Doctor, Janet and Matt hurried through the doors, but Destari was too late. The Tsuraxi grabbed her and slit her throat, before she fell to the floor in agony. The Time Lord rushed as fast as he could through the empty corridors of the Sectors building, followed closely by the Tsuraxi. Matt tripped up on the floor. The Tsuraxi grabbed him and slit his throat too.

The Doctor and Janet had lost another friend-but they had to continue.

The two of them hurried through the streets of Moros and through the carnival. The Time Lord connected his sonic screwdriver to a speaker. The celebrations stopped.

“I’m the Doctor, and I have to be quick because the Tsuraxi are chasing me. The Invasion the Sector warned you about earlier has come, and we all need to be prepared. I’ve got a time machine in the shape of a little blue box, and I need you all to hurry towards it in-”

A gunshot sounded before the Doctor could finish. Scott, now in the Servants body, had shot him. Janet screamed. Scott laughed.

“Seems one of your little friends survived. I’ll make up for it by killing you.”

Janet moved towards Scott and punched him in the face. “We’ve lost too much today already. We can’t lose the Doctor too.”

The Tsuraxi burst into the scene, slaughtering a number of innocent civilians.

Janet moved towards the microphone. “Get to the blue box everyone! I need you to-”

A Tsuraxi came from behind her, but Janet managed to duck out the way before it could kill her. She leaped to the floor, knocked one of the soldiers out and grabbed their weapon. She killed another Tsuraxi with it. She managed to lift up the Doctor and carry him forward. He woke up.

“I need you to get everyone into the TARDIS now. It’s only a little while longer.”

The civilians hurried towards the direction of the TARDIS-but when they arrived at the exact spot the Doctor had parked it, it was gone. The TARDIS was gone.

“What the hell do we do now?” Asked Janet.

“I don’t know,” The Doctor replied. “I think all we’ve got left to do is die.”

The Doctor passed out in Janet's arms and the Tsuraxi army hurried towards the team.
