Previously: Sarah Jane allowed two Alien life forms to take residence in her home. Rani’s parents, Gita and Haresh, spotted the Aliens and grew suspicious, questioning the existence of Aliens which they were both partly aware of. When the apparently peaceful Aliens turned deadly, Sarah had to take action to save her friends who had been kidnapped by Wentale and Shanda. It soon became clear that Wentale and Shanda were trying to escape from their race, a brutal warrior race who wished to kill Wentale and Shanda for the crimes they had committed. Wentale soon decided that Sarah Jane’s only intention was to help them, and thought it wise to join forces with her, however Shanda, who had been secretly working with her race, shot Wentale and continued their planned mission to destroy Sarah and her gang. Sarah learned that Shanda had been controlled by the leaders of her race and used as a decoy to kidnap Wentale. Sarah was too late and Wentale was taken away, but she managed to grant 12 year old Shanda a new home in Bannerman Road. Rani’s parents, now aware of the secret that Sarah and the gang had been hiding from them, worried that Rani was in danger, and decided the right decision was to move away. Rani told Sarah Jane this news, and wanted Sarah to throw a party for her so she could announce this news. Sarah decided that she would pretend the party was to welcome Shanda.
Sarah Jane is hanging out banners ready for a party.
Clyde: Look at this! Banners at Bannerman Road! What a coincidence!
Rani: Try to be a bit more serious than usual today Clyde. My parents are coming and it’s going to be a rather surreal experience for them seeing everything.
Sky: Why are your parents coming?
Sarah Jane: I invited them. They know about the whole alien thing now, and they wanted to see what was in the attic.
Sky: Couldn’t they endanger our secret?
Sarah Jane: I’ve told them not to, and I think I can trust them.
Gita: Sarah!
Clyde: Speaking of the devil-
Gita: Are you preparing for the Party today?
Sarah Jane: Yes, I’m putting up Banners.
Gita: Banners at Bannerman Road? What a coincidence!
Clyde: We’ve already done that one.
Shanda: And it wasn’t very funny in the first place.
Gita: Oh-What’s she doing here?
Sarah Jane: This is Shanda. I know she seemed threatening the last time you encountered her but she’s part of the crew now.
Sky: Didn’t you know she was here? That’s what the party is for today.
Gita: I thought the party was for-
Rani: -Shanda, I just didn’t tell you because I thought it would freak you out.
Sarah Jane: Oh come on, there are a lot more threatening things in this universe than aliens. We’ve just got to open our minds a bit more to the possibility that beings like Shanda aren’t that threatening after all.
Gita: Oh yes. Sorry, Shanda, is it?
Shanda: Yes. Apologies for the trying to kill you act.
Gita: That’s okay. Apology accepted. By the way Sarah, what time’s the party?
Sarah Jane: You can come in now, if you wanted-
Gita: Haresh! We can go into the attic.
Carla Langer appears holding an apple.
Carla: Sorry, I just thought I’d give this to Clyde. He doesn’t eat enough fruit and veg these days. I left it on the table and he didn’t take it.
Clyde: I told you, Mum, I don’t like apples.
Sarah Jane: Apples are great! Keeps a young boy like you fit and healthy!
Haresh: Okay, I’m ready to-Oh, hello Carla.
Carla: Hello, Haresh, how are you doing?
Haresh: Fine, it’s just Sarah has invited us over for tea and-
Carla: Hello, Sky and Rani! Who is your new friend?
Shanda: I am Shanda. Sorry, I’ve got some green face paint on.
Carla: Oh I wondered! I thought you were an alien then! (Laughs)
Sarah Jane: Don’t be ridiculous. Aliens don’t exist. Come along everyone, let’s go inside. See you later, Carla.
Carla: Are you not going to invite me in?
Sarah Jane: It’s sort of a-
Clyde: We can let her in. Come on in, mum, follow me.
Carla follows the group in. Clyde sits his Mother down on the sofa before walking over to talk to Sarah Jane and the gang.
Rani: What did you do that for?
Clyde: I dunno, I felt guilty. I mean, she’s my mother and she didn’t get included in all of this. She must feel lonely because of it.
Sarah Jane: But we cannot have anyone else know about all of this.
Haresh: Me and Gita are the only other ones that know.
Sarah Jane: Well that’s bad enough. There’s some very dangerous stuff within this building and if it is discovered by the outside world then we are in danger.
Haresh: Well it’s lucky we’re moving soon.
Gita: Can we go up to the attic?
Clyde: It might look a bit suspicious if we all go upstairs without Mum. I think we should hold the party down here.
Sky: Or you could get rid of her?
Clyde: I can’t do that. She’s my mother.
Sarah Jane: Maybe it’s best you take her back home and spend the day with her.
Rani: I want Clyde here today. I thought this could just be a time where we could all be together for the first time-All of us.
Shanda: She might be able to hear us.
Carla: Are you all alright over there? Why are you all huddling in a corner?
Sarah Jane: Go over there, Clyde, and try and convince her to go back home without hurting her feelings. We cannot have her finding out about all of this.
Clyde: Mum, should we go home?
Carla: I thought that we were staying for the Dinner Party.
Sarah Jane: Oh, it’s just a close friends thing. We invited Gita and Haresh along because-
Carla: I understand. You don’t want me here. That’s perfectly fine.
Gita: Can we go upstairs now?
Carla: What is upstairs?
Clyde: Let’s go, Mum. See you later, everyone.
Clyde and Carla move towards the door but before they can leave an eleven legged creature rushes through the door. Sarah leads everyone up the stairs. Everyone follows after her, and she shuts the door of the attic, leaving it outside.
Haresh: Oh my god.
Carla: What the hell?
Gita: This is amazing.
Sarah Jane: Alright, there’s a lot going on here right now. There’s some vicious creatures intent on killing us outside, and we’re planning a party. Gita and Haresh, welcome to the attic. Have a look around but try not to break anything. And Carla, this is the attic. I’ll explain more later. Or Clyde will.
Rani: What is that thing outside?
Sarah Jane: I don’t know, but it’s not humanoid, that’s for sure.
Carla: All of this is what you’ve been doing all this time? Every time you said you’d been at Sarah Jane’s you’d been hunting aliens.
Clyde: Yeah, I guess, Mum. I’m sorry for keeping everything so secret but-
Carla: You’ve put his life in danger, Sarah Jane.
Sarah Jane: Bit busy at the moment trying to save your life, Carla.
Sarah grabs a weapon. The Creature bursts through the door but Sarah zaps it with a nano blaster. The Creature is eradicated.
Shanda: So I guess that the party is off.
Gita: I’m a bit disappointed that our thunder has been stolen. I thought this was our chance to get a look at what goes on up here.
Carla: How come you got a right to know about all of this and I didn’t?
Haresh: We only just found out.
Sarah Jane: Look, I’m so sorry that me and Clyde had to keep this from you all this time, but if I told you then I’d be putting your life in danger too.
Carla: Why do you feel like you have any right to bring Clyde into this?
Clyde: Because I want to be a part of this, Mum.
Carla: I understand, Clyde, but that’s not what I’m angry about.
Sarah Jane: Please could everyone calm down! I know this is all a bit overbearing but there’s aliens attacking us and I need to sort it out.
Shanda: I thought there was just the one.
Rani: There is never just the one.
Sarah Jane: This is the sort of time when I need Mr Smith.
Gita: Who’s Mr Smith? Your secret husband?
Sarah Jane: He’s a super intelligent alien computer from a race called the Zodiac, who I now own and use to solve crime across Bannerman Road and beyond, from this attic. As you know everything else, I think you may as well know that.
Sky: I thought Shanda and her uncle destroyed Mr Smith.
Shanda: We never destroyed him. We just took him.
Clyde: And Sarah Jane kind of blew him up.
Sarah Jane: I didn’t blow him up. There’s a back up area which I can use to power him. I need him to know if there are any other aliens out there.
Shanda: Couldn’t you just do this on your own?
Sarah Jane: Do you think it’s wise to go outside? Those things would kill us on sight.
Gita: I’m having second thoughts about this party.
Carla: I’m having first thoughts because nobody told me about it. I was left out, just like I was left out of everything else. Everyone seemed to know about all of this but-
Sarah Jane: I told you I’ll explain everything later. Right now we all need Mr Smith.
Sarah inserts the Mr Smith disc into the back up casing but it does not work. Another creature bursts through. Shanda grabs the nano blaster and shoots the creature.
Sarah Jane: Well done Shanda.
Rani: How many more of those things are there?
Sarah Jane: I don’t know and that’s why I tried to start up Mr Smith. The bomb that I diffused must have destroyed all of his circuits. It looks like Mr Smith is gone.
Rani: How will we do what we do without Mr Smith?
Sarah Jane: Oh it’s possible, don’t worry. We have an extended crew now.
Carla: I have no intention of joining your little circle.
Haresh: Neither do I.
Gita: Am I the only one here who does want to join the group?
Sarah Jane: Today 13 Bannerman Road is under attack and we need all the assistance we can get. We don’t know how many of those aliens there are but we need to find out.
Sky: Is it safe to leave the attic?
Sarah Jane: I don’t know, but we need to. Rani, Sky, Shanda-You come with me and go on the lookout, while the rest of you stay up here. You’ll be safe don’t worry.
Sarah, Rani, Sky and Shanda walk down the stairs.
Rani: Come on! A bit of girl power!
Sarah Jane: I just needed to get out of there. Carla’s going to get annoyed and I don’t want to be on the receiving end of her shouting.
Rani: Poor Mum and Dad. I never thought I'd say that sentence.
Upstairs in the Attic.
Gita: So now we can finally have a good look around this place. Do you think we could sneak some of these artefacts in our pockets?
Clyde: No, Mrs Chandra. If you do I’ll have to report it back to “The Boss”.
Gita: The boss? Are you under a dictatorship now or something?
Haresh: What do we do now?
Carla: At least you got a choice to be up here.
Clyde: We just have to wait until the others get back with news.
The others keep watch downstairs. A creature bursts through the back door. Sarah and Shanda hurry after it. It crashes into the attic. Carla grabs the nano blaster and destroys the creature.
Sarah Jane: Well done, Carla.
Carla: Guess I’m more nifty than you all thought.
Shanda: We best go back downstairs.
Rani (Shouts): We’ve got a bit of a problem down here.
Cuts to downstairs where hoards of the creatures run towards 13 Bannerman Road. Rani shuts the door but one of them bursts through. Rani and Shanda hurry upstairs.
Sarah Jane: How many of them are there?
Sky: I’d say about three dozen.
Gita: Oh my god we’re all going to die!
Sarah Jane: All of us will get out of this alive, I promise you.
Rani: That nano blaster isn’t going to do much good against 36 of those creatures.
Sarah Jane: It’s the best chance we have I’m afraid.
The Creatures burst through. Sarah zaps a number of them with the nano blaster but too many of them flood through. Sky hurries towards Mr Smith and places the disc back in. She wipes the back of the disc. Mr Smith turns on.
Sky: Mr Smith, create a containment field to contain these creatures.
A containment field carries the 32 remaining creatures.
Sarah Jane: Well done, Sky.
Clyde: We have trained you well.
Sarah Jane: Mr Smith, welcome back. Sorry for all the stuff before but we’re glad to have you back.
Gita: That’s your husband?
Rani: That’s not her husband, mum.
Gita: Sorry. I just thought she was weird, that’s all. And weird people tend to have computers for husbands and everything.
Mr Smith: It’s nice to be back, Mrs Smith. I’m sorry but we have not been introduced.
Sarah Jane: Oh, we've got some new friends. Mr Smith this is Gita and Haresh-Rani’s parents, Carla-Clyde’s mum and Shanda.
Mr Smith: Very nice to meet you.
Shanda: Sorry for the whole trying to kill you thing, Mr Smith.
Mr Smith: Apology accepted.
Sarah Jane: Are you able to identify these creatures?
Mr Smith: They are a race called the Semini. They live under the soils of the planet Earth, and now they must have been awakened.
Rani: There were a series of earthquakes across the globe. Maybe they could be responsible? But why would they come to Bannerman Road?
Sky: Maybe they know who we are and know we are the ones likely to stop them.
Shanda: But we don’t know if they can be stopped. We don’t know what these things want. I think we should take our other friends back to their homes before their lives are in danger.
Gita: I’d rather be protected here than protect myself, thank you.
Sarah Jane: Gita raises a fair point. If we return them home, then the creatures could attack them and they will be defenceless, and that isn’t what we want.
Rani: Do we know if these things have gotten outside of Bannerman Road?
Mr Smith: The creatures are trying to unleash themselves from the soil, but as far as I can tell there are no readings of them from outside Bannerman Road.
Sarah Jane: Create a containment field around Bannerman Road so nobody can get in and nobody can get out.
Rani: How are we going to explain that? We can’t just prevent people from entering and exiting Bannerman Road.
Sarah Jane: If we keep those creatures in here, I can protect this street.
Shanda: But what about the creatures from outside who are buried within the soil?
Sarah Jane: There’s not much I can do about that, but if it does come to that I’ll think of a way to deal with it.
Clyde: Couldn’t you call the Doctor down here?
Sarah Jane: I have no way to call him down here. And anyway, he’s got enough planets to protect. He doesn’t need to come back just to protect ours.
Carla: I think there’s enough of us here. I mean you have some sort of cyborg computer which we can use to destroy those things.
Mr Smith: I can only use my powers for certain things, Carla. If I attack the Semini, then I will have to release the containment fields, and nothing else will be able to hold them.
Sarah Jane: I best go outside to keep a lookout.
Sarah heads towards the door but a creature bursts through. She shoots it with the Nano Blaster. Another creature breaks through and begins to scratch down the containment field.
Shanda: Just shoot it! Just blooming shoot it!
Sarah Jane: I’ve tried but it’s resisting the nano blaster. It must have adapted.
The Creature scratches the Containment field and it releases, unleashing the other Creatures. Sarah and the gang hurry out the attic.
Sarah Jane: We need to get as far away from here as possible.
Clyde: We need to call the authorities in or something.
Sarah Jane: They won’t be able to handle it.
Clyde: Well it’s not like we’re doing the best job.
The Creatures burst through the attic doors. Everybody hurries outside. Semini attack from behind, surrounding them. Sarah grabs her sonic lipstick.
Clyde: What good is that going to do?
Sarah Jane: I don’t know but we’re in trouble!
There is a rumble from the skies. A portal beams a humanoid down. It is Ace.
Gita: Who is that?
Ace: Everybody duck!
Ace grabs a nitro 9 gun and fires it at the ground, knocking all Semini out.
Sarah Jane: Thankyou for saving our lives. What is your name?
Ace: I’m Dorothy McLean but you can call me Ace. I haven’t been to Earth for a long time and I thought it was worth a visit. I’ve been away in the stars for all this time you see.
Rani: You’re an alien? But you look like us?
Ace: Some aliens do. Anyway, I must dash. All the Semini have been destroyed due to that Nitro Nine shot to the ground. Nice meeting you.
Clyde: Can you stay? You seem cool.
Ace: Oh, I am. Can I know the names of the lives I saved?
Sarah Jane: I’m Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane Smith.
Ace: Sarah Jane Smith? The Sarah Jane Smith? As in the one who travelled with the Doctor. Oh you're a legend! But I thought at this point you had-Well, I heard rumours that you had passed on.
Sarah Jane: No, I’m still going strong. How do you know who I am?
Ace: I also travelled with the Doctor. Many years after you, of course.
Rani: I think we’ll leave the two of you be. Shanda, Clyde, Sky and Carla-Do you fancy coming round for a cuppa? I know today’s been a bit stressy.
Clyde: Yeah sure we’ve got nowhere better to be.
Shanda: I was promised a party.
Rani: We’ll sort one out for you, Shanda. It’s just today wasn’t the day.
Shanda: When will be the day?
Ace: Anyway, Sarah Jane, I had best been going. The Doctor dropped me off on Gallifrey and I sort of have a life there now, so I’d best get back to it.
Sarah Jane: Please come in for a cuppa. I want some company.
Ace: Oh, I see bunting. Were you expecting to throw a party?
Sarah Jane: Yeah, but the Semini kind of ruined it. Now then, you should come in and tell me all about your adventures with the Doctor, and what you know about the Semini.
Inside of 13 Bannerman Road
Sarah Jane: So you live on Gallifrey now?
Ace: Yeah. I fell in love, got married, saved a few citizens. It was all rather sudden really. Me and the Doctor were travelling, and something happened with a race called the Ice Warriors. It’s all crazy.
Sarah Jane: The Ice Warriors! Oh, I remember them. And Peladon.
Ace: We went to Peladon! Oh, he was a wonderful man.
Sarah Jane: He was the strangest but most brilliant man I’ve ever met.
Ace: So what have you been doing since you left the Doctor? Have you been keeping busy? Have you missed him-Because I know I have!
Sarah Jane: Come upstairs. I’ll show you around.
Sarah Jane and Ace enter the attic.
Ace: Wow, this is wicked!
Sarah Jane: This is my attic. This is where we protect Bannerman Road from alien activity.
Ace: And you do this with your mates?
Sarah Jane: Well, I work with my son’s friends. He’s gone off and started his own life, but I’ve got a daughter now. It’s astonishing really. Without the Doctor I never would have had any of these opportunities. But now I’ve got them all. With all these adventures and these escapades, the most exciting thing is welcoming new life in to the world.
Ace: And what is that big computer over there?
Sarah Jane: That’s Mr Smith. Mr Smith, I need you.
Mr Smith opens up.
Mr Smith: Good afternoon, Sarah Jane. What can I help you with?
Sarah Jane: I just thought I’d introduce you to a new friend of mine and a friend of the Doctor’s. Ace, this is Mr Smith and Mr Smith, this is Ace.
Ace: Woah, that’s awesome. How does it do that?
Mr Smith: I am detecting alien life patterns from within the building.
Sarah Jane: The Semini were all destroyed, thanks to Ace here.
Mr Smith: They can’t have been. I am still detecting Semini life scans from within this attic. They seem to be coming from Ace here.
Sarah Jane: Well, they can’t be.
Mr Smith: Stay away from her, Sarah Jane.
Ace grabs her backpack and grabs a baseball bat from inside of it. She hits Mr Smith, breaking his screen and eventually his circuits.
Sarah Jane: What are you doing?
Ace: The Semini would never be successful in any other way. We must thrive. I am sorry to betray your trust like that, Sarah Jane.
Sarah Jane: What do you mean? Are you helping the Semini?
Ace: Don’t you see, Sarah Jane. I am the Semini.
Ace morphs into a Semini. The Creature leaps torwards Sarah.
Tomorrow: The Semini launch their Invasion on Bannerman Road, placing Sarah Jane in a dangerous position. What has happened to the real Ace and what do the Semini want? Elsewhere, Clyde tries to explain everything that has happened to Carla and Rani’s secret becomes public knowledge.
