Clyde rushes into the attic. Sarah Jane, Sky and Luke hurry towards the window. Outside, there are vans carrying items into the house across the road.

Clyde: It seems like it’s moving day.

Sky: I wonder who the new people will be.

Luke: Well Rani said he’d met them and they were the sort of people that we’d like which is quite promising. It also means they probably aren’t aliens.

Sarah Jane: Let’s go outside and introduce them to the neighbourhood.

Sarah Jane, Luke, Clyde and Sky walk outside. A car rolls up. Maria and Alan stroll out.

Maria: Did you really think we needed introducing to the neighbourhood?

Luke: Maria? Oh wow you’re back!

Luke hugs her, and Clyde hugs them, and they all huddle together.

Sarah Jane: I can’t believe you’re back, Maria! This is Sky, by the way.

Sky: It’s very nice to meet you.

Maria: Nice to meet you too. It’s so weird to be back.

Luke: So how come you are back? What happened to the job in America?

Alan: I got fired. I did something wrong, majorly wrong, and I needed to get as far away from there as possible. So, I looked on the housing market and I found out this house was on the market, so I decided to buy it.

Clyde: You could have told us that you were coming back.

Maria: We wanted it to be a surprise. We thought it would be nicer that way.

Alan: Although we haven’t told Chrissie yet either. We thought we’d surprise her.

Sarah Jane: It’s been a while since I’ve seen Christie. Oh, please come inside and have a cup of tea.

Alan: Oh we’re busy moving back in, but thank you for the offer.

Alan and Maria walk into the house. They look around them in awe.

Maria: This brings back some old memories.

Alan: It feels like a trip down memory lane.

Sarah Jane: We really couldn’t be more pleased that you’re back where you belong.

Maria: There’s a lot we need to catch up on. Why did Rani decide to leave? I never got a chance to meet her face to face.

Clyde: We do miss her already, but we’ve got you now.

Maria: And we saw on the news that everybody knows about the alien hunting thing now.

Alan: This house is a fortune because of it.

Sarah Jane: Somebody must have leaked some images online of it for some reason. The secret got out but I’m not exactly sure how. I think it was one of our friends, Shanda, who we sadly lost because of an adventure we had.

Alan: Well then, we best get organised.

Maria: Why don’t you call Mum and tell her that we’re back?

Alan: I’ll tell her to go to Sarah Jane’s house and we can surprise her from there.

Later, Chrissie’s car arrives at Bannerman Road. She knocks on the door. Sarah answers.

Chrissie: Ah, Cyndie Lou, I thought it was you.

Sarah Jane: That’s funny, but my name is Sarah Jane.

Chrissie: What did you call me for anyway, Cyndy? What’s the matter?

Sarah Jane: I know it’s been a long time but I really need your help. Our neighbours moved out and I’ve got a problem I need you to help sort out.

Chrissie: It has been too long. Is this problem to do with aliens? Oh well it’s you, it’s always to do with aliens. I’ll try my best to help you with it then.

Sarah Jane and Chrissie go up to the attic

Chrissie: Just make sure it’s quick because me and Ivan have got a gym session in an hour and I want to get there sharpish.

Sarah Jane: Don’t worry, Chrissie, it won’t take too long.

Chrissie: And if you’re an alien in disguise planning to kidnap me, I have been practising Judo and I will strike you down if I need to.

Sarah Jane: Don’t worry, I don’t think it will come to that.

Sarah Jane opens the door. Chrissie looks around her.

Chrissie: Wow I forgot how barren this place is. What do you say to activate that computer again? Is it Mr Lou, I need you? It’s really clever.

Sarah Jane: It’s something along those lines.

Chrissie: Where are Clyde and Luke? I thought they usually hung out here.

Sarah Jane: Usually, but they’re off doing other things. Today-

Maria and Alan (Both): Surprise!

Chrissie is shocked. She smiles, and hugs Maria.

Chrissie: Oh my beautiful daughter. It’s been too long since I last held you in my arms.

Maria: It’s been too long, Mum, but I’m back now.

Chrissie: Why didn’t you tell me you were coming down to visit?

Maria: Because we’re not coming down to visit. We’re coming back. We’re moving back across the road.

Chrissie: Oh my god that’s incredible news! Alan, that’s amazing!

Alan: I know it is. You and Maria can be together again. I know how hard it would have been for you without her but she’s back here now.

Chrissie: Oh I’m so glad. I’m not going to let you go again, you know.

Maria: I’m not going to let myself go, either. We’re staying put in Bannerman Road forever.

Chrissie: Welcome back. I think I’m going to cry.

Sarah Jane: There’s no shame in crying. It’s an emotional day.

Chrissie, Maria, Alan and Sarah Jane all hug each other. Clyde, Sky and Luke are walking.

Luke: I really cannot believe that Maria is back.

Sky: So if I understand correctly, Maria used to live here, and then she moved to America, and now she’s back here. What’s the point in that.

Clyde: Well she’s back, sparky, and that’s the only thing that matters.

Luke: I’m sure you’ll get to spend a lot of time together. I almost don’t want to go back to the university. I’m quite enjoying being back here.

Clyde: Then don’t go back.

Luke: It doesn’t work like that, Clyde. I have to go back. I have no choice.

Sky: I’m sorry but I really don’t feel too good.

Sky suddenly collapses onto the floor. Luke and Clyde kneel down to see if they can help. Back in the Attic of 13 Bannerman Road.

Chrissie: Well then, I best get going. I’ve got a gym session I need to be going to.

Alan: Is your marriage to Ivan still going strong?

Chrissie: I know you want me back, Alan, but I’m a married woman now. You came to our wedding and you know that we’re made for each other.

Alan: That’s what I thought when we got married.

Chrissie: Oh don’t be a grumpy grump, Alan. You’re back!

Alan: Why don’t you spend some quality time with your daughter now she’s back.

Chrissie: I’ll have all the time for her in the world from after my gym session. It’s been nice to see you again, Cindy Lou. If you need any help against those Sontoron things or whatever they are called then give me a ring.

Sarah Jane: Will do, Chrissie, goodbye.

Maria: We best be going too, we’ve got a house to unpack.

Sarah Jane: Yes of course I best not keep you! Do you need any help?

Alan: I’m sure we’ll be fine, don’t worry. It’s nice to see you again, Sarah Jane.

Sarah Jane: It’s been lovely to see you again too, Alan. And you Maria.

Maria and Alan leave. A portal materialises in Bannerman Road. The Guardian from the Dimension Bridge steps out.

Sarah Jane: Who are you? What do you want here?

Guardian: I wish to help you. I may be the Guardian of all things dark in this universe but I cannot stand to see it destroyed. You are in grave danger.

Sarah Jane: I always seem to be in grave danger.

Guardian: Not as much danger as you shall be placed in today. Today you will face the greatest threat you have ever come across. An old foe will return, and you will die.

Sarah Jane: How do you know that I will die?

Guardian: I am the keeper of the Dimension Bridge. You came to visit me once before, though you would not remember as that encounter never actually happened as a result of your actions. I can see through every corner of the planet. It is what my fellow guardian cursed me with-Being stuck to defend reality through the entirety of existence.

Sarah Jane: That doesn’t sound nice. Can you tell me anything more?

Guardian: The darkness will come to you, and he and his guardians will rise. The destruction of Bannerman Road will come and nothing will be safe. Protect all those you care about, because he will come for every single one of them, before coming for you.

Sarah Jane: Who are you talking about? What is his name?

Guardian: He has many names. The dark lord. The cursed soul. The deceiver. But there is one that he is most frequently referred to as-The Trickster.

An Ambulance arrives on the street and two paramedics carry Sky inside. Sky wakes up.

Paramedic: Are you alright? You collapsed for a few minutes.

Sky: I don’t know what just happened. I felt really faint and I don’t know why.

Paramedic: We’re just going to get you checked up to see if you’re okay.

Sky: Can my friends Luke and Clyde please come with me?

Paramedic: Of course they can. I’m sure it’s nothing too fatal.

Luke: We’ll be here for you, Sky, don’t worry. Just stay calm.

Sky: What happens if it’s not going to be alright? What happens if there’s something wrong?

Clyde: Don’t worry, Sky, it’s all going to be fine, just stay calm.

In Bannerman Road

Sarah Jane: Why is the Trickster back? What does he want this time?

Guardian: He wants to take everything from you, as he always does. You have always defeated him but this time he is more powerful than ever, and he will not let you bring him down. This is the end for everything you have ever known.

Sarah Jane: He won’t win. I’m not going to let him.

Guardian: Sometimes you don’t have a choice. Sometimes these things just happen and there is no way for them to be stopped.

Sarah Jane: Tell me what happens so I can find a way to stop it.

Guardian: You know that I cannot give away the secrets of time. I was given the position of defending the Dimension Bridge, and that means defending its many secrets.

Sarah Jane: Then what is the point of you coming here today.

Guardian: To warn you that the Trickster is coming for you, and you need to be prepared. But more importantly, elsewhere, your friends are in danger.

Sarah Jane: What do you mean my friends are in danger? What friends?

Guardian: There are some mysteries you must solve alone, as I have solved the mysteries of time and reality alone. You must solve this one alone. So go. Do not spare any more time.

Sarah Jane hurries out the door while the Guardian vanishes through the portal. She bursts through the Jacksons front door to see Alan and Maria unpacking boxes.

Maria: Is there something the matter with the doorbell?

Sarah Jane: No, nothing, I was just checking to see if you were alright.

Alan: Well you could have knocked. We’ve had to buy enough new stuff, and if we had to buy a new door as well then that would be too much.

Maria: Do you want a cup of tea? We’d like the company.

Sarah Jane: No I’ve not really got enough time. I don’t want to worry you but I think Clyde, Luke and Sky could be in danger. The Trickster is back.

Maria: The Trickster is back? But he can’t be. I thought we’d-

Sarah Jane: There’s no time for all of that line of questioning right now, we need to get going. You know how lethal he can be.

The Ambulance drives into the hospital.

Paramedic: It’s okay, Sky, there’s not much longer left until we get to the hospital.

Sky: I just have the feeling that something’s wrong but I don’t know what.

Luke: If there’s anything wrong they’ll check you over and I’m sure they’ll be able to get you back to your usual self. There’s nothing to worry about, Sky.

Sky: Sorry, I just always worry about things, that’s all.

Sarah Jane’s car zooms down the street. Inside.

Maria: We need to drive faster. Clyde, Luke and Sky could be in danger.

Alan: And here was me thinking we were going to have a nice day moving back in.

Sarah Jane: I’ll make sure that nobody gets hurt. I’ve stopped the Trickster three times before, and I’ll make sure that I stop him again.

The Paramedics help Sky out of the ambulance. They go into the hospital.

Clyde: Don’t worry, we’re still with you, there’s no need to worry.

Sky: Sorry, it’s just natural, because I have no idea what is wrong with me.

Paramedic: Just make sure she stays standing. He needs her to be able to do anything that he requires. She is his weapon, and it is time for him to activate it.

Clyde: What are you talking about?

Paramedic: There’s no need to worry, Clyde, it will all be over soon.

The hospital rooms turn to look like a cave. The paramedic vanishes.

Luke: What is going on? What happened to the hospital?

Clyde: I don’t know, but there’s some freaky deaky goings on here.

Luke: Sky, do you know what’s going on? They said that she is a weapon, and you are the only girl here, so I’m guessing they are talking about you.

Sky: How can I be a weapon? You’d think I’d know if I was.

Luke: Well there’s no way out of here. The door seems to have gone, and all the paramedics have vanished. This isn’t the same building we came through.

Clyde: If this isn’t the same building we came through, then where exactly are we?

Luke: I don’t know, but I think we’re about to find out.

The Trickster appears. Sky collapses once again.

The Trickster: Leave her! She will recover in a few moments, as she did before.

Clyde: Oh no not you. I thought I’d never have to look at your ugly face again.

Luke: Whenever the Trickster’s here, he means business. We’re all gonna die.

Clyde: I don’t want to die so young! I want to live for at least 10 more years.

The Trickster: I have no intention of killing you just yet, but you will bring Mrs Smith to me. The weapon will be activated.

Luke: Where exactly is this place? What happened to the hospital?

The Trickster: There is no hospital. Not on this side anyway.

Clyde: If you want Sarah Jane, then why didn’t you just go to her attic? You’ve been there before. Why have you brought us here? And how are you in control of Sky.

The Trickster: All will be revealed in due course. For now though, Sarah Jane Smith lives, and I wish for her to be gone from this planet. I have thought this scheme through for many years, and I shall not fail. I shall win.

Luke: We’ll stop you, Trickster, like we always do.

The Trickster: You have stopped me before out of luck, but this time there is no way you can stop me from doing what I have planned.

Luke: And what exactly is it that you have planned, Trickster?

The Trickster: The total destruction of this stupid little planet.

Sarah Jane’s car drives along the road but they do not see Clyde, Luke or Sky. They arrive at a nearby hospital where a police car is parked. They enter.

Maria: Why are we at the hospital?

Sarah Jane: I don’t know, I just have a feeling. Something in my mind told me to drive here and I do not know why. I have a feeling Sky, Clyde and Luke are here.

Alan: Well they’re not anywhere that I can see.

Maria: Should I give them a ring? See if they answer my calls.

Sarah Jane: Yes. I’m not exactly sure why we didn’t do that in the first place.

Maria calls Clyde. There is no answer.

Maria: He’s not picking up. Something must be wrong. They must be here somewhere.

A portal opens. Sky falls out of it.

Sarah Jane: Sky-There you are! I had a feeling you’d be here for some reason. Where are Luke and Clyde? Where have you been?

Sky: Something’s wrong. They’re in danger.

Sarah Jane: But where are they? Where have they gone?

Sky: I collapsed, so an ambulance picked us up and drove us to the hospital. When we entered the hospital, everything began to change. It didn’t look like this but instead it looked different, like a cave of some sorts. I think Mr Smith might be able to find a way to get us onto the other side and help us save Clyde and Luke.

Sarah Jane: Yes I think you’re right. Maria and Alan, you stay here and wait, just in case Clyde and Luke manage to escape from the portal like Sky did.

Maria: Aye-Aye, Captain! I’m never going to do that again.

Sarah Jane’s car arrives back at 13 Bannerman Road. When they enter the Attic, the Guardian is gone.

Sarah Jane: He’s gone. I thought he’d be able to help us.

Sky: Who would be able to help us?

Sarah Jane: There was this man who guarded something called the Dimension Bridge. He told me that we’d be placed in danger here. The Trickster’s back-My greatest foe-and we need to do all that we can to stop him, because if he’s more powerful than he was before like the Guardian said, then we are all in danger.

Sky: There was this man on the other side who Clyde and Luke referred to as the Trickster. We need Mr Smith. Mr Smith, I need you.

Mr Smith opens up

Mr Smith: Good afternoon, Sky, how can I be of help today?

Sky: The day that we have planned for has come. Activate your teleportation mode and bring him down here, and await further instructions.

Mr Smith transports the Trickster into the Attic

Sarah Jane: So it was right, you are back. What do you want this time, Trickster?

The Trickster: I want to be rid of you, and every other being on this planet. I wish to destroy everything that you have ever known, and everything your friends have ever known, and everything you’ll never have a chance to know.

Sarah Jane: Why did you transport him here, Mr Smith?

The Trickster: We just wanted to make things clear, Sarah Jane. Mr Smith is mine now, and as is Sky, as she always has been.

Sarah Jane: What do you mean Sky is yours?

The Trickster: I meddled in events. I interfered in her birth, and I sent her here to Bannerman Road so that Sky could put Mr Smith under my control and my plan could be activated. I have been putting this into place for a long time now.

Sarah Jane: I can stop you. Mr Smith responds to me, don’t you?

Mr Smith: I respond to my leader, The Trickster. The plan will go ahead.

Sarah Jane: And what of my friends? What have you done with them?

The Trickster: I have seperated you from them as a punishment to make sure you don’t have a chance to say goodbye, and to make sure they don’t stand a chance of stopping me. You have many friends, Sarah Jane Smith, and we are going to gather every single one.

Sarah Jane: What are you planning? What do you want here?

The Trickster: I have already made that clear, Sarah Jane. I want to destroy the planet Earth. I want to wipe out the human race. And I will do that right from this attic.

Sarah Jane: This is my attic and I will not allow you to use it for acts of evil.

The Trickster: This is no longer your attic. This is my domain and I shall use it for whatever acts I wish. I will use this to destroy the entire planet.

Sarah Jane: I’ll stop you. I always stop you. You know that by now.

The Trickster: You say you can stop me but it is clear that you have not thought of a way to do so. There is no way to stop me. This truly is the end.

Maria and Alan are at the hospital, but it soon turns into the cave.

Luke: Maria? Oh we’re so pleased to see you! Where’s Mum?

Maria: She went off to the attic with Sky. What is this place?

Luke: She can’t have gone to the attic with Sky. Sky can’t be trusted. Sky has secretly been working with the Trickster all along and we didn’t know.

Alan: What? You mean she’s leading Sarah Jane into a trap?

Clyde: I know, Alan, we’re as shocked as you are right now.

Maria: So what do we do? We’ve got to do something. We can’t just stay here and rot while Sarah Jane is led into a trap. We’ve got to get out of here.

Luke: But there is no way out. This place is like some kind of trap.

Clyde: There’s no way to save ourselves, or Sarah Jane, or anyone else the Trickster is planning on destroying today. We have no idea what he has in store for us.

Maria: So this is it then. This is the end of everything.

In the Attic

Sarah Jane: What are you going to do then? You can’t destroy this world from the attic. Mr Smith may be powerful but he isn’t powerful enough to do that.

Sky: Oh but he is. He is more powerful than you have ever been aware.

Mr Smith: I hid a series of functions from you Sarah Jane so that nobody would be able to realise what the Trickster was planning to do.

Sarah Jane: How long have you been working under the Trickster’s control?

The Trickster: Mr Smith has been mine since Sky arrived here. She is my secret weapon, and you never expected it. It makes me realise you do not stand a chance.

Sarah Jane: Oh I do Trickster. I’m not going to let you win today. I’m not going to let you destroy this planet, or kill me, or keep my friends hostage. I’m going to do something about it. Because that’s what we’re supposed to do. That’s what the world expects from the alien hunters at 13 Bannerman Road. They expect us to win. And do you know what, Trickster, today I will win, even if it doesn’t feel like I will.

The Trickster: It makes me laugh how much of a fool you really are, Sarah Jane Smith. Mr Smith, activate full control. The tower is ready.

Mr Smith: Activating full control. The tower shall be created.

Sarah Jane: I see what you’re doing. This won’t work, Trickster.

The Trickster: I am creating a tower inside of this attic which Mr Smith has used to hack into all energy sources on the planet, and from there we can destroy this world. The energy sources will be powerful enough to create a dangerous rift.

Sarah Jane: I have to do something about this now.

Sky: We told you that there’s no point in doing anything, Sarah Jane.

Sarah Jane runs towards the door. Sky points towards it and it closes. Sky’s face transforms to look like the Tricksters. Sky smiles.

Sarah Jane: Like father, like daughter.

Sky: There really is no way out of here. You are doomed, as is everyone else on this planet. There’s no chance in the world of stopping me.

Sarah Jane: Oh yes there is, Sky. There’s always a chance.

The tower begins to create energy. Chrissie’s television turns off at her home. People look up to see electricty spreading. There is chaos everywhere.

Sarah Jane: The world won’t stand for this. It won’t stand for you destroying them. You’ve just made yourself seven billion enemies, and with that, I’ve got seven billion new allies.

Sarah Jane dives out of the window. She somehow lands safely. Sky runs towards it.

Sky: Do you wish for me to go after her, Father.

The Trickster: Leave her. She stands no chance of stopping us. It’s too late.

Sarah Jane gets up from the floor and hurries into her car. She drives across the road but there is a huge line of traffic. People come towards her car.

Sarah Jane: It’s okay. There’s no need to panic. It’s all going to be fine!

Person: What is happening? What is going on? Save us, Sarah Jane. Save us.

Sarah Jane gets out of her car and runs along the pavement. A lamp explodes

Civillian (Screams): It’s the end of the world!

Sarah Jane: I’ve got to do this. I’ve got to stop him before it’s too late.

Chrissie: Chrssie Lou-There you are! What’s going on? Where’s Maria?

Sarah Jane: I don’t have time for this, I’m sorry, Chrissie, but I’ll sort all of this out. I’m going somewhere now, and I think I might be able to stop this.

The Trickster and Sky look out of the Attic window

Sky: We have done it, Father. This is the end of the planet Earth.

The Trickster: I never thought this day would come. Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith. Goodbye forever. (Laughs)

Part 2

Jo Grant enters the local hospital. She approaches the receptionist.

Jo: Excuse me, could you tell me which ward my son is in? His name is Santiago Jones. He broke his knee while adventuring around the local area.

Receptionist: Yes of course. Right this way, Ma’am.

The Receptionist walked Jo through the hospital. The lights soon went off.

Jo: That’s odd. Have you had any technical problems like this before?

Receptionist: I don’t know what happened there. Let me just go and check.

Jo: I need to see Santiago as soon as possible. It’s been a while since I’ve visited.

Jo turns around and the Receptionist is gone. She turns back around and Clyde, Luke, Maria and Alan are sat in front of her.

Clyde: Jo Grant? Is that really you?

Maria: I don’t mean to sound rude but who is Jo Grant?

Jo: I’m Jo Grant. Hello Clyde, and Clyde’s friends. Could you please tell me where I am?

Sarah Jane is still running. She reaches a laboratory. The lights are out. She hurries through the corridors until she reaches a door which reads “Celeste Riveres”

Sarah Jane: Celeste I need your help. And it really is a life or death matter.

Celeste: We’ve got enough going on as it is. The electricity has gone down and we might have lost all of our work. Is this something to do with you?

Sarah Jane: The world is about to end if you don’t help me. I need you to blow up my home. I know it may sound rediculous, but my attic is the source of all of these problems and I need you to blow it up before it ends the world.

Celeste: I think my assistant Toby might be able to help you with that.

Toby: I can. Why does something huge like this have to happen every time we meet?

Sarah Jane: I don’t know. Maybe it’s because you’re the only ones who can help me with huge things like this. Can you blow up 13 Bannerman Road?

Toby: Are you sure you want that? That’s your home. That’s where you keep all of your alien possessions. Do you really want to loose all of that?

Sarah Jane: I don’t want this world to end. Now do something, please.

Toby: Usually I’d be able to blow the home up manually, but as all of our software is down, you’re going to have to plant the bombs yourself.

Sarah Jane: But that’s too dangerous, isn’t it?

Celeste: If this is that important then it really does not matter. You need to grab these explosives and take them to Bannerman Road yourself.

Sarah Jane: Of course. I’ll do my best to not die today.

Celeste: We do all want to see you again. Be quick. Good luck.

Sarah grabs the explosive materials. In the Cave.

Jo: I was in the hospital, and suddenly all the lights went out. The receptionist left, and I turned around and all of a sudden I was just here.

Maria: So who exactly are you, Jo Grant?

Clyde: She’s a friend of Sarah Jane’s friend, The Doctor.

Maria: I always found it sad that I never got a chance to meet him.

Alan: You may still get a chance. It seems like from what Clyde and Luke were saying that the world is coming to an end, and he usually appears when the world is about to come to end. Maybe he’ll come to save us.

Luke: I hope so. He’s what we really need right now.

Jo: What do you mean the world is ending anyway? The world isn’t ending.

Luke: There’s someone, or more like something, called the Trickster. We’ve faced him many times. He’s tricked people so that he could get his own way. This time he’s interfered too much, and he’s going to wipe out the whole of humanity.

Jo: Are we safe here? Wherever we are?

Clyde: I don’t think anyone is safe. The Trickster has faced our group many times before and each time more deadly than ever. We’re all going to die.

Jo: Where’s Sarah Jane right now? Can’t she save us?

Maria: She’s been led into a trap. And we don’t even know where we are, so how will we? It seems you can only enter this place, but you can’t exit it.

Jo: If we are to die, then I want to see my son, Santiago, again.

Clyde: We’ll make sure that you do, Mrs Grant. I want to see him again as well.

There is a faint noise. A portal begins to materialise.

Alan: Do you hear that? It sounds like there’s something about to materialise.

Luke: The Trickster is probably back. Stay away from the portal, everyone!

The portal settles. Ace appears from the portal.

Ace: Hiya, everyone. The planet Earth is in danger, and somehow I ended up here. Do you have any reason why you’re just standing here or do you need a way to escape?

Clyde: We’d actually quite like the means to escape.

Ace: Then hop aboard. We’re going to save this planet together.

Sarah Jane hurries towards Bannerman Road. She places a five minute timer on the bombs.

Celeste (Voice); Can you still hear me, Sarah Jane? Is our contact working? Toby will warn everyone to evacuate their homes, but you need to make sure that the Trickster does not see you. He is up above you, probably.

Sarah Jane: I know that. I’ll try to make sure that he does not see me.

Celeste (Voice): I need you to run, and get as far away from there as possible.

Sarah Jane: Goodbye, house, we’ve made a lot of memories over the years, and we’ve stopped a lot of alien invasions, but now it’s time for all of that to come to an end. All good things must come to an end, after all. And Mr Smith, I know that-

Celeste (Voice): Stop with the emotional speech and just get out of there.

People are screaming and evacuating their homes. The Trickster looks out the window.

Sky: How come the human race has not been wiped out yet?

The Trickster: It seems like the tower is taking longer to work to the effect we want it to than we expected. We shall be patient and await what happens next.

Sky: I sense that Sarah Jane Smith is nearby once again.

The Trickster: So do I. She could not have gotten far earlier on. She tried to stop us, but there is nowhere for her to run. There’s no way to stop us.

Sky: Sarah Jane Smith is outside. I can sense it now.

The Trickster: She is currently below us. I will deal with her, don’t worry.

Ace teleports into the area alongside the rest of her allies.

Sarah Jane: Hello everyone! Ace and Jo-It’s so great to see you both again. It has been way too long. I need you to help Toby get everyone out of the area and save. In 5 minutes this bomb will activate and destroy 13 Bannerman Road and quite a lot of the surrounding area.

Alan: What about our house?

Maria: Come on, Dad, the whole worlds at stake and you’re worrying about the house.

Sarah Jane: There’s absolutely nothing to worry about. I just don’t think the blast will be enough. I need you to evacuate the area while I end this.

Ace: What do you mean you’re going to end this? Actually, I know that from when I do stupid, heroic things like this. What are you going to do, Sarah Jane?

Sarah Jane: Thankyou for getting my friends out of there, Ace, I really do appreciate that.

Luke: Please, Mum, don’t do this if it’s going to mean you sacrificing your life.

Sarah Jane: It’s the only way to do this, Luke, I’m so sorry. The end of the world is near and I’ve got to do something stupid and heroic to save it.

Luke: I love you too much to let you go in there and sacrifice your life like this.

Sarah Jane: There’s no other way. This is my duty, Luke. Oh, I love you, I really do, and if I don’t get out of this alive, which there is a high possibility that I won’t, I just want you to know that there’s nothing in the world that I love more than you. Not even the Doctor. Nothing else was important. Not really. Just you.

Luke: You can’t go in there, Mum. I won’t let you go in there!

Sarah Jane: I know you won’t, Luke, but who knows, there may be a way that I get out of this one alive, eh? I couldn’t be more proud to have a son like you. I couldn’t be more proud of all of you. How far we’ve come, how much you’ve all grown and how much we’ve all been through. These really have been the best of times.

Ace: Don’t go, Sarah Jane. Please, I’ll do this. I don’t have as much to loose.

Sarah Jane: It’s my duty, Ace, not yours, but thank you.

Clyde: This can’t be the end. You can’t just throw your life away like this.

Sarah Jane: Just get out of here. You only have a few minutes left.

Sarah Jane hurries into 13 Bannerman Road while Toby, Ace and Jo escort everyone else away. Sarah Jane enters the attic and looks around.

The Trickster: Ah, you have returned, Sarah Jane Smith.

Sarah Jane: Yes I have, Trickster, and I will make sure that this time there is no way that you are coming back. I could use the explosives in my hand but there’s no need because I have a better plan. Mr Smith, I know you’re not mine anymore but I’m going to do something that will make sure that you can’t do this.

Sarah Jane takes out Mr Smith’s disc drive and stamps on it.

Sarah Jane: I’m so sorry, Mr Smith, but it’s what I had to do. K-9!

K-9: What is it, Mistress?

Sarah Jane: Are you ready to do something heroic to make sure the Trickster never returns.

K-9: Affirmative, Mistress. Whatever is necessary.

Sarah Jane: Then this really is it. The countdown is up. Oh, how I will miss this place.

The countdown ticks to 0 seconds. 13 Bannerman Road explodes. Luke, Clyde, Maria, Alan, Jo, Ace and Toby watch on as the explosion rips through the street.

Jo: There’s still a chance that she could have got out of there alive.

Alan: She can’t have survived that. She’s gone. Sarah Jane is gone.

Luke (Cries): I don’t want it to be like this.

Maria (Hugs Luke): I’m sorry, Luke. It’s just how it had to be to save the world.

Luke: I would rather that I lost the world than lost her.

Clyde: We’ve all lost so much here. I never thought that this would happen. I thought this would go on forever. I never thought that she’d-

Ace: I think we should have a moment of silence. Just to remember her.

All of the group hug each other. All of them are crying.

Celeste (Voice to Toby): What is it? What has happened down there?

Toby: Sarah Jane is dead. She sacrificed herself to save this planet.

Celeste (Cries): No-You can’t be serious-No, No, No-

Toby: I know we’re all speechless. I can’t believe that she’s really gone.

Luke: It’s just unreal. I never wanted it to turn out this way.

Maria: None of us did, Luke, none of us did. It’s just difficult to believe.

Clyde: At least she died doing what she loves-Saving the world.

Jo: At least there’s that. And at least the Trickster’s gone-

Luke: There’s no upside to this. Mum’s dead. I-We-All need to remember her, not everything else. This is the time where we need to reflect, not a time to be positive.

Clyde: I’m sorry, Luke. It’s just too hard for us all to take this.

Luke: I know-it’s all gone-It’s all gone-I can’t believe it-It’s all gone-

Alan: Just try not to talk. It may be easier if you just stay quiet, for a while.

Ace: Well this is the end. The end for everything.

The Shopkeeper arrives in a chair room. He sits down on his seat.

Governor: Ah, you are here at last, Chair. Do you have anything to report about today?

Shopkeeper: Sarah Jane Smith is dead. She sacrificed her life for the greatest good, or what she considers to be the greatest good. She stopped the Trickster, and she saved the planet from extinction, which is in many ways, a good thing.

Governor: I told the Trickster that he would never succeed but he would not listen. He would have wiped us all out. Even us in this room.

Shopkeeper: There’s no way his sources of energy would ever have reached us.

Governor: So what do we do now? This can’t be over already?

Shopkeeper: There are obviously methods we could use to bring the Trickster back, but not now. We have other matters to focus on. Like what to do about Dorothea.

Governor: We shall put events with the Trickster on hold for now. Dorothea is our top priority. We must put in a replacement.

Shopkeeper: Of course we will. We’ve got to take this slowly. All this is far from over.

Captain the Parrot: Far from over, squak!

Shopkeeper: Yes, Captain. We’ve got a lot more tricks up our sleeves yet.

Jo and Clyde knock on Santiago’s hospital door. Santiago hugs her.

Santiago: Mum! I was so worried! And Clyde-It’s nice to see you again, mate. You both look sad. What’s wrong? Has something happened.

Jo: Sarah Jane is dead. She sacrificed her life to save this world.

Santiago: Oh my god that’s awful. I’m so sorry. I know how much she meant to both of you-

Clyde: There’s no reason to be sorry, Santiago. It’s okay. It was just horrible.

Santiago: What are you going to do? Are you going to put the alien hunting on hold?

Clyde: I think we’re going to have to. It wouldn’t be right to continue all of this. There’s still people out there who could do this, and we couldn’t do what we do without Sarah Jane, or the Attic. I’ll miss her, I really will.

Jo: We all will Clyde. The whole world will miss her.

One week later, at the Funeral. Luke, Jo, Clyde, Santiago, Maria, Alan and Chrissie pile into the front row. They are crying. Rani, Gita and Haresh arrive. Luke hugs Rani.

Luke: I’m so glad you could all make it.

Rani: We wouldn’t miss this for anything. Sarah Jane meant so much to all of us.

Haresh: It’s just unreal that she’s gone. I’m sorry to hear of your loss.

Luke: Everybody apologizes, even though there is nothing they could do about it. I’ve got to do a speech. I’m nervous. I’ve never done anything like that before.

Gita: It’s a huge turnout though, isn’t it?

Luke: That doesn’t really help.

Alan: The reason there’s such a huge turnout is because she meant so much to so many people. She saved everyone on this planet, and most of them don’t even know.

Chrissie: Couldn’t you just tell the news stations?

Maria: We just didn’t think it would feel right, Mum.

Jo: Is Ace coming? I thought it would be nice if she would.

Ace (Appears): Sorry I’m slightly late. I was planning on getting here earlier but life is hectic at the moment. Are you alright? Luke, how are you doing?

Luke: I could be better, but I’m trying my best to get my head around it all.

Celeste (Appears): Are you all doing alright, I thought I’d just check.

Rani: Everything’s fine, Celeste, please take a seat.

Celeste: Toby thought he didn’t know Sarah Jane well enough to sit this close to the front so he’s a few rows behind. I thought I’d join you over here.

Clyde: That’s fine. Please sit down.

Gita: This is so sad. I still can’t believe all of this is happening.

Chrissie: I know, Gita, I know. She was such a lovely woman-Sarah Jane Smith. I have a feeling that I never quite got her name right.

Maria: Yeah, I think you should have wrote it down on a piece of paper or something.

Luke: Please, this is no time to joke. The ceremony will begin in a minute.

Clyde: Are you sure you’re ready to do a speech? You seem nervous.

Luke: Of course I’m nervous. Look at how many people have turned up today.

Rani: You would have thought the Doctor would be here.

Santiago: He travels around space and time. It’s very unlikely he would have got an invite.

Ace: Sarah Jane meant a lot to him. He went on about her quite a lot. He loved her. She was one of his closest friends, and I would have thought that she meant enough to him to turn up today, whether he got an invite or not.

Jo: You would have thought the Doctor would just know about today.

Ace: Maybe we overestimate him. I’m really not sure.

A few moments later, after the start of the ceremony, Luke arrives at the front.

Luke: Hello everybody, I’m Luke Smith and I’m Sarah Jane’s son. I’m here today to talk about our mum. Those who know us very well will know that we are not the most typical mother and son. In fact, it’s all rather complicated. But there are elements that we have tried to make as conventional as we could. We love each other, as we always have. She was the most important person in my life, because I wouldn’t be standing here today, or I wouldn’t have met all of my wonderful friends that are sitting here today, and I was the most important person in her life, because nothing would be like how it is right now if we never met. In many ways, I wish we never met, because then she’d be alive. But in other ways, I’m just proud to have had the opportunity to spend time with my mum, and she really was the best mum in the world. And I miss her. I’ll always miss her. But because of her, and what she did, you are sitting here today. She is the reason for your very existence at this point in time. She is the reason why this globe keeps on spinning. There may be aliens out there, but they never stood a chance-Because Sarah Jane Smith was always there, and Sarah Jane Smith was brave enough and kind enough and loyal enough to do whatever it took to protect her planet and everything she cared about, and that’s why she’s not here, but also that’s why we’re all here today. We’re remembering her today, for everything she did for us, and everything she’s done to make me and my friends, and everybody else sitting in this room right now, a better person. You may be gone now, Mum, but thanks to what you did today, you will never be forgotten. You will always be loved, by me, and by everyone.

Luke sits down. Later on, everybody is standing outside waiting for what happens next. Luke, Clyde, Rani, Gita, Haresh, Jo, Santiago, Maria, Alan, Chrissie, Celeste, Toby, Ace, Mike Yates, Sergeant Benton and various other individuals are standing around.

Luke: Today is harder than I ever thought it would be.

Maria: I know it is, Luke, it’s hard for all of us.

There is a sound in the distance

Benton: Can you hear something? There’s some noise, from the distance.

Mike Yates: I can hear it too. Loud, but approaching. Something must be coming.

The TARDIS arrives. The eleventh doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams exit.

The Doctor: I’m sorry I’m late. I didn’t want to believe that it was true for a while, but it is.

Rani: We knew you’d come, eventually.

The Doctor: Of course. Sarah Jane meant the universe to me, and much more. These are my companions, Amy Pond and Rory Williams.

Rory: I’m so sorry to hear of your loss.

Amy: I’m devastated that I never got to meet Sarah Jane. The Doctor was discussing her on the way over here and she sounded like the best of people.

Clyde: She really was the best of people.

The Doctor: I guess that when you grow attached to something, like this, even though you never want to, you’ve got to let go, because that’s the way it always is.

Luke: I don’t want to let go, I really don’t.

The Doctor: I know, I know, but I guess this is the end. I guess this is goodbye.

Maria: I guess it is.

The Doctor walks over to Jo and Ace and hugs them both. Amy and Rory talk to Benton and Mike. Everyone looks at each other.

The Doctor: Let’s try to make this the perfect way to say goodbye.

Everybody there hugs each other, and many tears are shed. Later at a pub.

The Doctor: Well then, I guess we best be going.

Maria: Thank you so much for coming. It was nice to meet you all.

Amy: It was nice to meet you too, Maria. And it was nice to meet everybody else.

Rory: I hope everybody recovers from this. It’s going to be hard.

Rani: Oh yes of course it will. She was like our best friend.

The Doctor: She was like my best friend too. I hope I get to see all of you again some day. And Luke, you were so lucky, and it must be so hard. Good luck, and goodbye.

The Doctor, Amy and Rory leave in the TARDIS. Everybody waves them off.

Jo: Today really has been the best way to say goodbye, hasn’t it?

Ace: It really has. I’m just so pleased I got the chance to meet Sarah Jane.

Jo: The next round of drinks will be on me. Benton, do you want one?

Benton: I’m trying to stay alcohol free for the moment, thankyou Jo.

Chrissie kisses Alan on the cheek. Maria smiles.

Alan: What was that for?

Chrissie: I just realised that this is stupid. We should be a family. We should all be together. Ivan doesn’t matter, but both of you do. I love you both so much.

Maria: I love you too, Mum.

At the Chandra's house later, Rani and Clyde look out the window at Bannerman Road.

Rani: It’s such a shame to think that all of this is gone now.

Clyde: I know, I know. We’ve not even got the house to remember her.

Luke: We’ll remember her, and that’s all that matters.

Maria: Clyde and Rani, you said you were going to look at your new sixth form. Do you need me to come? I know I’m not going with you but-

Clyde: No it’s fine. It’s a shame you’re not coming.

Maria: I didn’t like the sound of Cole Hill Academy. It just had a weird feel to it.

Rani: Well, we’ll go anyway. We’ll be back soon.

Everybody hugs each other. Clyde narrates over this footage.

Clyde (Narration): 13 Bannerman Road was where Sarah Jane Smith lived, and it was home to things way beyond your imagination. There was an extraterrestrial supercomputer in the wall, her son, a genetically engineered boy genius in the attic, a girl back home from America, a schoolgirl investigator across the road, and a whole universe of adventure right on the doorstep.

Rani and Clyde walk down the path awaiting their new opportunities.

Rani: Ready?

Clyde (Smiles): Always.
